Lake Kaco has a dark legend. According to local people's stories, the clarity of the lake water comes from the diamonds that belonged to young men who wanted to propose to a beautiful and beautiful daughter, the son of a king named King Crow. The beauty of the daughter named Napal Melintang even captivated her own father's heart. The Crow King took his daughter away, and left the diamond at the bottom of the lake to escape the youths. Until now, local people still believe that the sparkle at the bottom of the lake is a diamond left by the Crow King.

Lake Kaco has a unique uniqueness that is rarely owned by other lakes in Indonesia. The uniqueness is like Lake Kaco can emit a bright light, especially at the time of the full moon. If tourists come to Lake Kaco during the full moon, the tourists do not need lighting aids because the lake water can emit bright enough light. When viewed from a distance the light emitted by Lake Kaco will look like a lamp directed to the sky.

Despite the legend, the beauty of Lake Kaco deserves to be enjoyed. Tourists can make this lake a must-visit destination while in Jambi. The location of Lake Kaco is in the Kerinci Seblat National Park area, Overtime Village, Gunung Raya District. The route to Lake Kaco if you start moving from Jambi City, you will travel almost 10 hours by directing your vehicle to Sungai Penuh. After that, continue your journey to Lempur Village. The trip to Lake Kaco should use a motorbike because the road is not too wide, you will pass through rice fields owned by residents.

To be able to enjoy the beauty of Lake Kaco, you have to do trekking first. By walking the path in the middle of the shady trees. The road that is traversed is quite rocky and slightly uphill, along the way all you can see is the green of the trees and there are some tall trees. Trekking that is passed is quite heavy, the road conditions are uneven and will be muddy if it rains. To arrive at Lake Kaco you will take about 2 hours of travel time. But it depends on the pace of walking and rest time used.

Lake Kaco's operating hours are open 7 days a week and 24 hours non-stop.
