Experience Nobita's Hill in the Real World

The city of Padang has a new tourist destination that you should visit. The name is Nobita Hill, which is inspired by the cartoon Doraemon and features a beautiful panorama from a height. Nobita Hill or Bukit Batu Jariang is one of the hills located in Kampung Jua Village, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province, about fifteen kilometers from the city center. This hill is very popular in the Padang City area.

The city of Padang was shocked by the existence of a hill which reportedly has similarities with the hill behind Nobitas school, a character in the Doraemon film. From this hill, the view of the entire city of Padang can be seen clearly. The view at the top will be more beautiful in the afternoon or evening, you can see the beautiful sunset that will hypnotize you to capture the moment.

If you want more fun then come at night then you will be spoiled with views of the citys twinkling lights that make visitors leave and rarely camp at Nobita Hill, especially on weekends. The distance of Nobita Hill is only about 15 kilometers from the city center with an altitude of more than 900 meters above sea level and there are two alternative routes to get to Nobita Hill, the first is via Jalan Kampung Jua and the second is from Jalan Arai Pinang.

To reach the top of Nobita Hill, visitors need to spend a little more energy because some access roads have some fairly high and exhausting inclines. But in the middle of the road, visitors can rest on a flatter area while holding their breath to continue the journey to the top. There, the view of the city of Padang is visible from a height. Especially at night, visitors can enjoy the twinkling city lights.

When almost reaching the top, visitors will see a large ship that stands firmly on the top of Nobita Hill. From the boat, you will see a view of the entire city of Padang from the easternmost boundary bordered by Bukit Barisan to the west with the Indian Ocean.

Not only boats at the top of the hill, in the area there are also 3 swimming pools with different depths that can be developed for children, teenagers, to adults. In order to enjoy the view of Padang City from the boat and swim in the pool where the water is cold and fresh, an entrance fee of IDR 5 thousand per head is charged.

The manager provides a place for prayer and public toilets there. Visitors can also order food and drinks there while enjoying the panorama of Padang City. Considering that the Covid-19 pandemic is currently spreading, every visitor must carry out health protocols and must wear masks, maintain distance, and wash hands in places provided by the manager. The beauty of the view of Padang City from a height plus the sensation of riding a boat at the top of the hill and being able to swim to their hearts content, makes visitors feel at home for long on Nobita hill.
